WILD WITCHES- review -NetEnt Slot Games

Wild Witches slot game was just released by NetEnt software provider. I always imagine what it is like working with the designers of new slot games. The last two new slot game releases I  reviewed are Golden Shamrock and Wild Witches. There must be a lot of pressure on the programmers to come up with different and more exciting slot games. They went all out for Ghost Pirates a few months back. Check it out because it is certainly very different. It has no betlines. It works with something a bit more simpler to see. But I have seen no more of that class with 243 ways to win. A pity really. I have read a few Casino Web portals say” Gosh! What will they think of next”… in a negative tone. I would imagine the same attitude was at hand 6 years ago when the first video slots came out. There is always resistance to change. Change is the only constant in the world.

I would like to compare Wild Witches to Golden Shamrock. They have very different themes. I would consider Wild Witches theme to have a wider audience than Golden Shamrock, simply because the theme has a wider appeal. The Irish theme could be attractive to a small audience while Sexy Bitches would appeal, right away, to half the population. I see that Wild Witches is promoted a lot more than Golden Shamrock. In fact I see Golden Shamrock in very few NetEnt casinos. The NeEnt casinos always have the option to buy a newly released slot game or not. Golden Shamrock was passed up by most of the industry while Wild Witches is everywhere.  Perhaps (I am only guessing) the casinos knew it paid out more returns to the players than Wild Witches… or then again, it could be because of the wider appeal of the Wild Witches theme.

If I may go back to the subject of the NetEnt “inventors”. There would be at least 2 obvious sides to creating a new slot game, these being graphics and programing. The programing, to be sure, in itself is multi-faceted. The adjusting between how often a symbols shows to its value and then again what type of multipliers, free spins, expanding wilds etc.  must be extremely complex. To be sure a computer must lend a hand in its basic structure and calculations. The NetEnt casinos advertise a 96% payout and from what I see this is correct. Whether the individual casinos can tweak this percentage is a good question. I do know that some software companies let their casinos do so. But I do not think NetEnt lends that capacity to their casinos. There are a rough casino or two in the NetEnt list of casinos but you will definitely not find one on my pages.  The programmers must shoot for that target of the 96%. But to actually hit that target must be more of an art than a science. My point is that not all these slot games have the same RTP… not by a long shot!

What I see, comparing the two slot games of Golden Shamrock and Wild Witches is this: the expanding Wilds in Golden Shamrock on reels 2, 3 and 4 pay out a lot of coins. It would be hard to keep the rest of the game offering less payouts to keep the programmers on target for the 96% payout. From what I see they did not do their job correctly. Golden Shamrock pays out a lot better than Wild Witches. Compare the Wild Witches How Not To Loose with Golden Shamrocks How To Win. Maybe they were trying to make up for the Irish theme.. I couldn’t guess.

Wild Witches is a fairly straight forward slot game. There are no expanding wilds, interactive games nor other functions that would be hard to calculate what their RTP (Return To Payer) will be. It could be they have made up the difference on giving too much away on Golden Shamrock with Wild Witches.  I have reviewed, played and taken specific spin-by-spin data on a lot of new NetEnt slot games. It is a fact that they all do not pay out exactly 96%. Some games just inherently have a higher RTP than others. So my point is that Wild Witches will give the player back less money than other NetEnt slot games that I have reviewed recently. I have verified this with a 1000 spin study. The best RTP of recent releases is Ghost Pirates, Thrill Spin and Golden Shamrock. Of the older releases Excalibur is at the top of the list. With that said what I did notice on Wild Witches is that if you used the Oscillation system you would have come out loosing less than a straight forward play. It is amazing really. You would have lost only 1,248€ instead of 8,068€. The former figure represents a 98% RTP while the second represents a 92% Return To Player. You will not win money with the Oscillation system with Wild Witches but the 1000 spin study does illustrate the interesting outcomes that the Oscillation system will provide even with a such a depressing RTP as Wild Witches is programed for.

How To Calculate Your Wins

Above, the Golden Wild (Scull) paid a 4X multiplier on 3 different betlines with the Purple Bitch. The skinny Purple Witch pays 20 (see paytable) for 3 symbols on an active betline. I had the game set at betlevel 4 (4 coins per betline) SO 20 x 4= 80 With a 4X Multiplier = 320 coins. (3 times)

Notice I only had gained 640 coins on the first 10 free spins. This is not a lot considering my game settings of MAX BET.

However, by the time I completed the second round of 10 free spins I had the wins up to 5236 coins. You may want to note that in the second round of free spins the multiplier stayed at 3X. It did not increase… That  is too bad. I believe the game would have been fairer if the programmers had just let the second set pay out another 3X more. Because as I have noted in the Frequency on the Wild Witches How Not To Loose link table study the RTP is only 92%. A normal NetEnt RTP is 96%.
