I would like to compare Wild Witches to Golden Shamrock. They have very different themes. I would consider Wild Witches theme to have a wider audience than Golden Shamrock, simply because the theme has a wider appeal. The Irish theme could be attractive to a small audience while Sexy Bitches would appeal, right away, to half the population. I see that Wild Witches is promoted a lot more than Golden Shamrock. In fact I see Golden Shamrock in very few NetEnt casinos. The NeEnt casinos always have the option to buy a newly released slot game or not. Golden Shamrock was passed up by most of the industry while Wild Witches is everywhere.  Perhaps (I am only guessing) the casinos knew it paid out more returns to the players than Wild Witches… or then again, it could be because of the wider appeal of the Wild Witches theme.

If I may go back to the subject of the NetEnt “inventors”. There would be at least 2 obvious sides to creating a new slot game, these being graphics and programing. The programing, to be sure, in itself is multi-faceted. The adjusting between how often a symbols shows to its value and then again what type of multipliers, free spins, expanding wilds etc.  must be extremely complex. To be sure a computer must lend a hand in its basic structure and calculations. The NetEnt casinos advertise a 96% payout and from what I see this is correct. Whether the individual casinos can tweak this percentage is a good question. I do know that some software companies let their casinos do so. But I do not think NetEnt lends that capacity to their casinos. There are a rough casino or two in the NetEnt list of casinos but you will definitely not find one on my pages.  The programmers must shoot for that target of the 96%. But to actually hit that target must be more of an art than a science. My point is that not all these slot games have the same RTP… not by a long shot!

What I see, comparing the two slot games of Golden Shamrock and Wild Witches is this: the expanding Wilds in Golden Shamrock on reels 2, 3 and 4 pay out a lot of coins. It would be hard to keep the rest of the game offering less payouts to keep the programmers on target for the 96% payout. From what I see they did not do their job correctly. Golden Shamrock pays out a lot better than Wild Witches. Compare the Wild Witches How Not To Loose with Golden Shamrocks How To Win. Maybe they were trying to make up for the Irish theme.. I couldn’t guess.

Wild Witches is a fairly straight forward slot game. There are no expanding wilds, interactive games nor other functions that would be hard to calculate what their RTP (Return To Payer) will be. It could be they have made up the difference on giving too much away on Golden Shamrock with Wild Witches.  I have reviewed, played and taken specific spin-by-spin data on a lot of new NetEnt slot games. It is a fact that they all do not pay out exactly 96%. Some games just inherently have a higher RTP than others. So my point is that Wild Witches will give the player back less money than other NetEnt slot games that I have reviewed recently. I have verified this with a 1000 spin study. The best RTP of recent releases is Ghost Pirates, Thrill Spin and Golden Shamrock. Of the older releases Excalibur is at the top of the list. If you want to compare my 1000 spin Frequency Tables on a few of the games you will see what I mean.

With that said what I did notice on Wild Witches is that if you used the Oscillation system you would have come out loosing less than a straight forward play. It is amazing really. You would have lost only 1,248€ instead of 8,068€. The former figure represents a 98% RTP while the second represents a 92% Return To Player. How to Calculate a win

I found a 4000 coin win buried  in the spaghetti. The green witch pays 500 for 5 symbols (see paytable). I had her set at 4 betleves. A Blue Wild  on the active betline gives a multiplier of two.  So you would calculate the win like this: 500 x 4=2000 x 2 = 4000 coin win… How nice!

THE STUDY of 1,000 spins

I create all the frequency tables below, such as the one you see below, simply as an implement to guide us in future wagering techniques. It gives us a profile of the wins. They come in cycles which I call the PDWSC (Pre-Determined Win Spin Cycle). It is a complicated name for something very simple and obvious. The Pre Determined Win is 10 times wager. The Spin Cycle is how often the slot game pays out this amount…. it determines how often large wins occur. We need to understand this in order to know when to stop betting. This is what the Oscillation system is. You don’t want to stop betting while you are behind. If, on the average, a big win is about to appear… it would be good to know. Martingale System for slots is another system you might want to try out. You can read all about it in many other reviews i have done. But for Wild Witches it does not look good.I will not explain or go into the Martingale system for slots on this review. Actually Wild Witches is not made to make money on the Oscillation system either b the results are a lot more inetersting than a normal play. Putting together the following table, I set the slot game at MAX bet, MAX betlevel and covered all the betlines. This gave me a 100€ wager for every spin. The Wins column below is in coins. Conclusions

What I have concluded is that Wild Witches is good for neither the Martingale nor the Oscillation system. But it is surprising to see how many times you could loose if you theoretically played Wild Witches with the outcomes above. The overall losses were 8062€  while the Oscillation losses were only 1248€. The RTP in the normal losses was 92% while the RTP for the Oscillation was 98.8%. I find this very interesting. It is a confirmation on just what the Oscillation system is capable of.

Oscillation System

The oscillation system refers to your casino account oscillating up and down as the session matures. In an Oscillation system, if we want to win money, we will need a slot game that is suited for it. (Golden Shamrock is perfect, so is Excalibur. You might want to try it out on these two games.) It gives back the RTP in large amounts over a long PDWSC. This will inevitable place your account over the initial amount regularly over the period of play. Expanding Wilds are the most important thing feature in the slot game Golden Shamrock. Above is a little demo of what will happen when you hit a few at the same time. The expanding wilds are only encountered on reels 2, 3 and 4. They are single symbols that can anywhere on the reel and expand up and down to cover all 3 places on the reel. YES! Those red mushrooms next to the little green man are an exact representation of the famous Amanita mascaria toad stool of Alic in Wonderland (photo in the wild at right). Conclusions

What we can learn from the 1000 spin study recorded above is that the Return To Player (RTP) normally appears on Betline wins with the Expanding Wilds. There were 16 of these in all exceeding 10 times the wager. When the wild symbol expands and covers the entire row on the reel, there exists a lot of possibilities for wining combinations and these add up. The single bet line wins individually are small but some Expanding Wild wins had 19 winning betlines. Many times these have a multiplier as well. So the wins are quite large. And as you can see these expanding wilds happened every 62 spins on average.

The free spin modes were less frequent with a total of 8. There were more Free Spin modes but a few were not recorded because they did not exceed the ten times wager of 2000 coins (PDWA). I did record one less than a PDWA  just for an example in set 2 spin 46. There were 22 free spins and the total win of 206 coins barely matched our wager amount of 200 coins. This demonstrates quite nicely that normal betline wins (22 of them added together) sometimes are not very large. Read on to understand how. Below you will also find a detailed description and definition of the words PdWA and PdASC along with the theory of the Martingale System for slots.

General Strategy of the Martingale System

The well known Martingale System is normally used in the very popular casino game of roulette. This system applied to slot machine games has been neglected entirely. But it can, with a few pre-calculated numbers, be applied quite easily to slot games. The Martingale System for slots in a nut shell is as follows:  sum up data from 1000+ spins. Analyze the data, including how many large wins over a predetermined win amount appeared and how often they appear. I will identify this key amount calling one the Predetermined Win Amount, or PdWA for short. The PdWA is a large win. These wins are what is raising our balance upward again to Return To the Player (RTP) most of the money he lost on non paying spins. So this is a key amount for us. How often the PdWA appears is the second key number basic to mounting this strategy. The PdWAs appear every so often in a sort of cycle. I will call this cycle the Predetermined Win Spin Cycles or PdWSC for short.

The amount of a win is in relation to the amount of coins you place on a wager. The Martingale system for slots attempts to accentuate the wins when the PdWSC tells us a PdWA is expected to appear. In contrast, the system attempts to soften the wager amounts when they are not expected.  For example, if we have worked out by trial that the PdWA appears every 50 spins, the PdWSC is 50.

Implimenting the PdWA and PdWSC

To implement the Martingale System for slots, first activate ALL betlines with any betlevel and the lowest coin value. When a PdWA has not appeared for 1.5 X the PdWSC, raise the wager one denomination of coin value. If it has not shown in 2 x PdWSC raise the denomination one more notch. Continue this relationship until the PdWA has appeared and we have won the spin. When the PdWA finally appears revert back to the lowest coin value possible and start the process over. So in effect, we have created a method of having small wagers when the game is not paying well and larger wagers when we are more certain of a good win.

PdWA and PdWSC Changing

The PdWSC will never changed when you are playing the same slot game. But the PdWA will vary on the smae slot game, depending on what betlevel you have chosen. For a clear illustration, let me give you an example using Mystery At The Mansions. Mystery has 6 coin values of .01, .02, .05, .10, .20 and .50€ and it has 4 betlevels. The PdWA is ALWAYS ten times (10X) the overall wager in COINS. So no matter what coin value you have the PdWA will be the same. Mystery At The Mansion has 4 betleves and 25 bet lines. So if you are playing conservatively at betlevel 1 (1 coin on each bet line) your PdWA is 1 X 25 X 10=250 coins. Or, if iyou have chosen to play at betlevel 4 (4 coins on each betline) your PdWA is 4 X 25 X 10=1000 coins.

• betlevel 1 x 25 betlines x 10 = 250 coins
• betlevel 2 x 25 betlines x 10 = 500 coins
• betlevel 3 x 25 betlines x 10 = 750 coins
• betlevel 4 x 25 betlines x 10 = 1000 coin

Martingale Budget Adjustments

You can use this system with any betlevel as long as all betlines are covered with the same number of coins. Therefore fitting the Martingale system into your budget is easy. You would adjust it with betlevels by placing only one coin on each bet line instead of more. Most slot games offer the player the option to place 1 to 10 coins on every bet line. Most of our NetEnt, Mac compatible slot games offer 4 betlevels.  So if your budget is moderate, play the entire session at bet level 1. This means placing only one coin on each betline. With more free cash to wager, place more coins on every betline. For your fist try at a casino in Play For Real Mode you might want to have only 1 coin on each betline. Playing for free is always more fun with the MAX betlevel of 4. But you must have the same number of coins per betline or the PdWSC calculated in advance, will be off.

The relationship is always 10X. The image above is at bet level 1 with a coin value of only .01€.  The above image does have a Win more than 10 x the Bet. So this spin is a PdWA. The amount of euros won is 4.51€

Again this image shows a PdWA more than 10X Bet. The but the wager in euros here is much higher, 50€. The wager is at at betlevel 4 with a coin denomination of .50€. The amount won in euros is 580€.

How to Determine the PdWSC

I always arrive at the PdWSC by 1000 or more recorded spins in sets of 100 spins each. Once the PdWAs are recorded in sequence you can determine how often they occur. Below you can see the large blue table for Mystery At The Mansion.  We have recorded 21 PdWAs in the 1000 spin study. This means on the average we hit a PdWA every 47.6 spins on the average.  To make the system a bit more manageable and intuitive I will round the PdWA to 50 spins. I am using the number 1.5 to multiply the PdWSC to arrive at the number we can use to start increasing our wager size. So for a PdWSC of 50 you will start increasing your bet on spin #75 (50 x 1.5= 75) . You can increase it again after 100, then again at 125 spins and again at 200 spins etc. Increase the coin denomination one notch every PdWSC/2.

1000 Spins of Mystery At The Mansion

The blue data sheet below sums up data from 1000 spins and comes up with a profile for Mystery At The Mansion. 1000 spins is a manageable amount to record and organize within a few hours time hours time. More spins would be preferred, no doubt.  Yet 1000 spins will give us a general idea of the characteristics of any slot machine game. For the 1000 spin study of Mystery At The Mansion to mount the frequency table and arrive at a PdWSC number, I have used a betlevel of 4 and a coin denomination of .50€ steadily throughout. Because we are only recording data to determine the PdWSC, we do not have to vary the coin denominations. Varying the coin denominations is only necessary  playing the Martingale system.

One of the attractive characteristics of slot games is their variety. They all have unique characteristics. Mystery At The Mansion is no exception. Her Solve The Mystery Bonus Game Feature does not always reach the 10 X Bet coin amount needed to qualify for a PdWA. 19 Solve the Mystery Bonus games appeared yet only 7 were close to 1000 coin wins. There were a health proportion of normal betline PdWAs. The 10 Free Spin modes never failed to produce less than 1288 which was the lowest 10 Free Spin win of the entire series. By this I mean we can see if we have run into more wins or loses than what we can normally expect a slot machine to give. A 4% overall lose is the target NetEnt’s casinos RNG is shooting for. Or stated another way, the RTP is normally 96%. So If we are far from this figure we might want to take pause and either do some adjusting or more trial spins. I see from the analysis below that our RTP was 97.02% which is very close to normal. We lost 2084 coins in the 100, 000 total coins wagered in the 1000 spins. This is a 2.08% lose. So we are on target.

Any slot game is perfect for this Martingale System as long as it has a few different coin values. It does not have to have a Bonus Feature nor a free spin mode to qualify. True with an embedded interactive bonus feature  you will know where many of your PdWAs will appear. It is also true, with a slot game that offers 10, 15, 20 or 30 free spins you will know when you will be winning your PdWAs. But a slot game that offers only wins on an active bet line is perfect for this system as well. All slot games will have their own way of paying back the RTP. These just need to be identified and recorded to determine your PdWSCs. And the PdWa is always 10X the coins wagered in any slot game.

The amplitudes of the wins and loses are not too important with the Martingale system for slots. The amplitude I refer to is how  high and low are the swings of the wins and loses. For example in a slot game with a high amplitude you will be loosing a lot at times and then gaining a lot at others. This roller coaster can get quite exciting. Reading a PDWA on the Game Board



The bet of 67.5€ is always in COINS displayed on the control panel (red circle on left). The wins are displayed on the right opposite of the bet. So staying with “coin” values is very easy by referring to these two windows.

The PDWA is always 10 times more than the be. So the window on the right must reach 1250 coins or it does not qualify. The above image does NOT qualify. It was off by 250 coins. A PDWA (Pre-Determined Win Amount) is always 10 times the wager in coins. All coins in the Frequency Table below were placed at the max value of .50€ each. So a PDWA in this case is 125 coins or 675€.  If you are implementing the Martingale system then your wager amounts would differ depending where you are in the PWSC.
